America’s Heartland Tells Stories of Ag

americas-heartland-logo1.jpgIf you haven’t seen America’s Heartland, the weekly TV series broadcast on many PBS stations and on RFD-TV, you’re missing something special. Now in its third year, the program–sponsored by Monsanto and the American Farm Bureau–tells the stories about the people, places and processes of American agriculture.

From high-tech, state-of-the-art machinery to the foundations of family farming, this beautifully produced program tempts viewers through its 30-minute segments to come back each week to learn more. Agri-tourism, food science, animal agriculture, acquascience and more are among the many topics covered in the programming. The series is produced by KVIE-TV out of Sacramento, Calif. These are the same folks that produced the long-running California Heartland.

Now the program is appealing to another audience: students interested in pursuing agricultural careers. Secondary and college students and teachers have access to study guides, related stories and videos.
