Minnesota Paper Poll Shows Support for E15

A very unscientific poll in a Minnesota newspaper is showing some good support for increasing the ethanol blend level in gasoline to 15 percent.

The Rochester Post-Bulletin ran an editorial Wednesday written by University of Illinois business and law professor Andrew P. Morriss opposing more ethanol in gasoline and saying it “could do more harm than help.” Morriss calls increasing the ethanol blend level “a risky measure that threatens to damage our car engines and saddle car companies with soaring warranty costs.”

Included in the side bar of the editorial is a poll asking readers if they would support an increase in the amount of ethanol that’s blended into gasoline. Out of more than 1600 replies as of Thursday evening, support for the increase was running at 65 percent.

Not scientific, but nice.
